The company has expanded Gemini Spark to work directly with Google Photos. This means users can now ask the AI agent to perform several photo-related tasks instead of handling everything manually.

Gemini Spark can search, organise, edit and curate photos. It can also create albums, share collections and run recurring workflows in the background.

For people with thousands of photos sitting untouched in Google Photos, the update could be a major time-saver.

What can Gemini Spark do with your photos?

Gemini Spark can handle multiple steps from a single prompt. You can ask it to find specific photos based on a subject, location, date or event.

It can also identify the best photos from a particular occasion and filter out duplicates. For example, you could ask Gemini to find your best holiday pictures and organise them into a new album.

The AI can also enhance images, apply quick fixes and create collages. It can even stylise images and create visual stories from your memories.

Google says edits do not overwrite the original photos. Instead, Gemini creates a new copy and saves the edited version in Google Photos.

You can create albums with a simple prompt

One of the more useful additions is Gemini’s ability to create and organise albums.

Instead of manually selecting dozens of pictures, you can tell Spark what you want. It can search through your library, choose relevant images and place them into a new album.

You can also ask it to create shared albums. However, Google says newly created albums are private by default, and Gemini asks for permission before sharing them.
