Several rumours revealed that Samsung removed a camera from its upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra. This implies that the device will feature three rear cameras, and not the four like its predecessor.

A tipster on X has revealed the details of the S27 Ultra’s telephoto camera. It seems the brand wants to replace both telephotos from the S26 Ultra with a new camera by using a 1/1.9″ type sensor.

The camera will feature 4x optical zoom. This will be between the S26 Ultra’s two telephotos (one at 3x and the other at 5x). The S26 Ultra’s 5x camera uses a 1/2.52″ type sensor, while the 3x camera comes with a 1/3.94″ type sensor. This implies that the new sensor will be a big upgrade in size and light-gathering capabilities as well.

We expect to hear more about the Galaxy S27 Ultra specs before its launch.
