NIS Announces UK Passport Dates for September – Innovation Village

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the dates and locations for its passport intervention exercise for Nigerians living in the United Kingdom in September 2026.

The exercise will provide passport services to eligible Nigerians across four UK locations as part of efforts to make passport processing more accessible and address pending applications.

The announcement was issued by the NIS on Monday, August 31, 2026, following the earlier deployment of a Passport Intervention Team from the NIS Headquarters in Abuja.

The deployment was directed by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as part of efforts to improve passport services for Nigerians in the diaspora.

NIS announces four locations for the exercise

Following consultations with the Nigerian High Commission and representatives of Nigerian communities in the UK, the NIS said the intervention will take place in London, Manchester, Aberdeen and Cardiff.

The exercise will run from September 7 to 19 in London and Manchester, while Aberdeen and Cardiff will host the team from September 21 to 26, 2026.

The locations and venues are:

  • London: Layali Lounge, Trent Park, Bramley Road — September 7 to 19
  • Manchester: Nigerian House, 23 Platt Lane — September 7 to 19
  • Aberdeen: Hilton Convention Centre, 13 Smithfield Road — September 21 to 26
  • Cardiff: Sophia Gardens, Sophia Walk — September 21 to 26

Nigerians living in these cities and surrounding areas who are eligible for the intervention can use the exercise to apply for new passports, renew existing passports or resolve pending applications.

Applicants must apply and pay online

The NIS said applicants must complete their applications and make payment through its official passport application portal before attending the intervention…
