Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen scored a brace and provided an assist in Galatasaray’s 4-0 thrashing of Erzurumspor on Friday night, Soccernet.ng reports.
After a disappointing opening weekend where the defending Süper Lig champions settled for a 2-2 draw against Çorum, they returned to league action against newly promoted Erzurumspor at the Kazım Karabekir Stadium.
As usual, the Nigerian forward led the line as Galatasaray sought their first win of the campaign to reassert their dominance in Turkey.
It took the visitors just 12 minutes to open the scoring through Roland Sallai, settling early nerves. Osimhen nearly doubled the lead a minute later, forcing a sharp save from Matija Orbanić.

Osimhen has cemented his reputation as one of the world’s elite strikers, distinguished by his pace, work rate, aggressive pressing, aerial power, and unselfish link-up play.
His team-first mentality was evident during Galatasaray’s second goal. After being played through by Yunus Akgün, Osimhen went on a mazy run to find himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper. Rather than shooting, he squared a difficult pass back to Akgün, who calmly tucked the ball away.
A minute before the break, Osimhen got on the scoresheet himself through sheer anticipation. Reading a weak back-pass from an Erzurumspor defender, he intercepted the ball and tapped it into an empty net.
