Introduce yourself . . .

Hello! My name is MaRae. I’m a lover of fashion, shopping, and most of all, life.

Are you relaxed, natural, texturized or texlaxed?

I’m natural.

What’s your story, how did you get to where you are?

I first went natural in 2011 starting in June but I gave in at the end of the August and got a perm. After wanting to try something new I decided to actually go through the process of becoming natural and in October of 2012 I had my last perm.

What is your typical weekly regimen?

I wash and deep condition my hair every Sunday. I wash with Organix and Carol’s Daughter shampoo then I deep condition by mixing my three favorite conditioners together. Then I let it sit on my hair for about 45 minutes and wash it out. While my hair is still wet I spray on some Hask Placenta for protein. After that I put Cantu Shea Butter* Deep Leave-In conditioner* and olive*/coconut oil* in my hair to seal after which I do a twist out.

Are you happy with your progress so far?

I am loving my progress! It’s healthy and it’s growing.

noid-Snapshot_20130510_1What’s your signature style?

My signature style is a twist out or a puff.

How do you ensure that your ends are protected from the elements and your hands?

I ensure that my ends are protected by using products that are not harmful for my hair or skin. As far as my ends any product that I use on my hair I make sure that I use a generous amount on my ends especially.

Do you have a goal length or are you more concerned about the health of your hair?

I do have a goal length but I am mainly concerned with having healthy hair. I will maintain length by keeping my hair moisturized…
