A Shared Ride That Starts at Your Door Why Shuttlers Is Moving Beyond the Bus Stop

Shuttlers has launched Shuttlers Pod, a new shared mobility service that offers scheduled, door-to-door rides for commuters in Lagos.

Unlike traditional ride-hailing services, where passengers request a vehicle when they need one and pay a fare that can change with demand, Pod requires commuters to book their trips in advance. The service then matches passengers travelling in the same direction, allowing up to four people to share one vehicle.

Commuters can join the waitlist through Shuttlers’ website as the company prepares to roll out the service.

A Shared Ride That Starts at Your Door

Shuttlers Pod is designed around predictability.

Each trip comes with a fixed fare agreed upon at the time of booking, a guaranteed pickup and a named driver, whom Shuttlers calls a “Pilot.” This means passengers do not have to deal with the surge pricing or uncertainty that can come with conventional ride-hailing.

For commuters who prefer privacy, Pod also allows users to book the entire vehicle for themselves.

Shuttlers says the shared option can cost about 50% less than typical ride-hailing fares, making the service particularly relevant as transportation costs continue to rise alongside the broader cost of living in Nigeria.

Damilola Olokesusi, CEO and Co-Founder of Shuttlers, said the service was created around the growing need for more affordable transportation.
