Nigerian skitmaker Carter Efe has revealed why he moved away from relationship content, saying the pressure to portray happiness online while dealing with conflicts behind the scenes began affecting his mental health.

Carter opened up about the experience during a recent episode of Cocktails & Takeaways, where Madame Joyce asked him about his relationship content and what led to him stopping it.

The skitmaker said he eventually realised that constantly tying his content and success to his relationship could have serious consequences for him.

Carter said, “I’m a smart boy. God gave me brain. I know say this thing go take my life.”

He recalled how dependent his content had become on his relationship at the time.

“There was a time I could not do content if I don’t see my woman. If I don’t see my woman, I cannot shoot content.”

According to Carter, he later understood that his identity and success should not be dependent on another person.

“You don’t have to attach me to anyone. Like don’t attach my glory also to someone else.”

The comedian explained that viewers often expected him and his former girlfriend to appear together, even when they were having disagreements.
