Anne Hathaway is giving us princess energy with a couture twist as she prepares to return to the glamorous world of Genovia!
Stepping onto the D23 stage on August 14, the Princess Diaries star gave fans a royal update on the highly anticipated third installment of the beloved franchise that helped launch her into superstardom. While Dame Julie Andrews has shared that she does not expect to return for the new chapter, Hathaway revealed that the wait for The Princess Diaries 3is intentional. Disney and the creative team are taking their time to get the story just right, even restarting the script after a major creative breakthrough.
And Hathaway is entering this next era with a little extra sparkle of her own she is currently expecting her third child!
Naturally, her D23 appearance called for a fashion moment fit for a modern-day princess. Styled by Erin Walsh, Hathaway stepped out in a breathtaking burgundy creation from Ukrainian prêt-à-pleats label J’amemme. The handcrafted plissé top featured delicate pleating, dramatic sculptural rosettes, cascading ruffles and a striking high-low silhouette that moved beautifully with every step.
Rather than wearing the coordinating trousers, Hathaway styled the statement top with crisp white wide-leg pants, creating the perfect contrast between rich burgundy and fresh summer white. Her hair was swept into an elegant updo, keeping the focus on the architectural details of the ensemble and, of course, her gorgeous baby bump.
