Stanbic IBTC Holdings, a member of Standard Bank Group, has marked 12 years of its Together4ALimb initiative, with the 2026 edition supporting 50 additional children living with limb loss.
This initiative provides beneficiaries with custom-designed prosthetic limbs and education support. The latest beneficiaries each received a prosthetic limb and a Stanbic IBTC Education Trust Fund valued at N1.5 million. The addition brings the number of children supported since the programme began in 2015 to 250.
The latest beneficiaries were announced during the Together4ALimb awareness walk in Victoria Island, Lagos, which brought together Stanbic IBTC employees, beneficiaries, families, partners and members of the public. Themed “Be Un’limb’ited,” the event sought to raise awareness about limb loss while highlighting the importance of mobility and access to education.
Speaking at the event, Ibijoke Sanwo-Oluthe, first lady of Lagos State, represented by Ola Ibitoye, said access to prosthetic limbs and education support could improve children’s mobility, school participation and confidence.
She commended Stanbic IBTC for directing its corporate social investment towards a specific social need, describing inclusion as creating opportunities for people to participate fully and realise their potential.
Chuma Nwokocha, Stanbic IBTC Holdings chief executive, said investment in children’s education and development was important to long-term economic growth.
