Cardi B Meji Meji Moment Puts Nigerian Streetwear in the Spotlight

Cardi B is putting Nigerian streetwear in front of a global audience once again, and this time, Meji Meji is getting the spotlight.

In the visual for her latest track “Ah Ha,” the rapper and her dancers bring larger-than-life beauty-shop energy to the screen. Set inside a salon, the scene features rollers, bold beauty looks, and plenty of attitude, creating the kind of playful styling moment Cardi B is known for.

But beyond the campy salon setting, the fashion deserves a closer look.

Cardi B and her dancers were spotted wearing standout pieces from Nigerian streetwear label Meji Meji, including the “Ko Mi Je Rush Rush” Cycling Tee and “Sisi Ologe” Top. The pieces add a distinctly Nigerian edge to the colourful visual while fitting effortlessly into its exaggerated aesthetic.

The looks were styled by Cardi B’s longtime stylist Kollin Carter, whose work has helped shape some of the rapper’s most memorable fashion moments.

For Meji Meji, the appearance is another reminder of how Nigerian designers and streetwear labels are increasingly becoming part of global pop culture. What starts on the streets and creative scenes of Nigeria can now find its way onto some of the biggest music stages and screens in the world.

And seeing Meji Meji worn in a Cardi B visual makes the moment even more exciting.
