The re-election of Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has entered a new legal battle after the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) filed separate petitions challenging the outcome of the August 15 governorship election.

The Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal on Monday formally commenced proceedings related to the disputed election after the two petitions were displayed on the notice board of the tribunal secretariat in Osogbo.

The development marks the beginning of the post-election legal process, which will involve the service of court documents on the parties involved and subsequent hearings before the tribunal.
