Fake: FIFA Disown Letter Of Threat On Dissolution Of NFF, Meets NSC

Editor

World football governing body FIFA says the purported letter threatening to sanction Nigeria following the mass resignation of the board of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) didn’t come from them, OwnGoalNigeria.com.

A letter was made delivered to our editorial team by a staff of the NFF threatening to ban Nigeria demanding an explanation over the dissolution of the Ibrahim Musa Gusau led board, following the mass resignation of its members.

However in a swift response FIFA has distanced itself from the letter, and has approved the process of the setting up of a normalisation committee to run the affairs of the NFF for the next three months.

Members of the National Sports Commission (NSC) and the acting General Secretary of the NFF were warmly received by FIFA at its headquarters in Switzerland, the first step towards setting up the committee to run Nigerian football.

Yesterday the planned election into the board of the NFF slated for September in Gusau was postponed to next year, and the constituted electoral committee was subsequently dissolved.
