The 77-year-old Grammy winner checked himself into a local hospital shortly after his performance at The Muny in Forest Park, according to TMZ, which first reported the news.

The hospitalization comes as Richie continues his “Sing a Song All Night Long” tour with Earth, Wind & Fire. The singer is scheduled to return to the stage Sept. 26 in San Francisco, although it remains unclear whether his latest health issue will affect his upcoming performances.
