The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has cleared Bolt to immediately resume e-hailing services at its managed airports following passenger concerns over increased transportation costs and inconvenience caused by the temporary interruption of services.
FAAN said it had adjusted its approach to e-hailing operations after listening to concerns raised by passengers during the disruption.
In a statement seen by Technology Times, the aviation authority acknowledged that the interruption had a significant impact on passengers, particularly as travellers were forced to compare existing airport taxi fares with the lower prices they had become accustomed to through e-hailing platforms.
FAAN apologised to passengers for the difficulties experienced during the period, saying it had listened to the concerns and made the necessary adjustments.
The development follows constructive engagement between FAAN and Bolt, which has now resulted in an agreeable operational framework with the airport authority.
According to FAAN, Bolt has been cleared to immediately resume its services at FAAN-managed airports.
The temporary interruption of e-hailing services heightened concerns among passengers over the cost and availability of transportation from airports. FAAN acknowledged that the comparison between airport taxi fares and the lower fares passengers had become accustomed to using on e-hailing platforms understandably generated public concern.
The authority also disclosed that it remains in discussions with other e-hailing operators and expects the outstanding engagements to be concluded in the coming days.
