CWG’s infrastructure unit more than doubles revenue to N15.5bn in H1

CWG Plc’s IT infrastructure services business generated N15.5 billion in the first half of 2026, up 142.4 percent from N6.4 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, making it the biggest driver of the technology group’s revenue growth.

Figures contained in the company’s condensed unaudited financial statements for the period ended June 30 show that the infrastructure segment, which covers data centre, network, security and storage equipment, generated N10.5 billion in the second quarter, up from N6.2 billion in the same period last year.

The segment now accounts for roughly 35 percent of CWG’s group revenue, compared with about 17 percent in H1 2025.

The surge helped push group revenue to N44.4 billion in H1 2026, up 20.8 percent from N36.8 billion a year earlier. The infrastructure business alone accounted for the bulk of the N7.6 billion increase in group turnover.

The rapid expansion of the infrastructure business, however, has not translated into a similar increase in profitability. The unit is largely focused on data centre, network, security and storage equipment, while software remains CWG’s largest revenue contributor.

Software revenue declined 6.3 percent year-on-year to N18.7 billion from about N19.95 billion in H1 2025. Managed and support services remained broadly stable at N9.6 billion, while the platform business generated N618 million.

As infrastructure sales expanded, cost of sales increased 24.2 percent to N35.3 billion, faster than the 20.8 percent growth in revenue. Gross profit consequently rose by…
