Afrobeats star Davido appears to be heading back to Lagos after spending time in Osun State in support of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, whose re-election bid he actively backed during the August 15 governorship election.

Davido played a prominent role in Adeleke’s campaign, serving as Chairman of the Imole Youth Campaign Council. He was involved in youth mobilisation and grassroots campaign activities and also temporarily stepped away from music to focus on the election effort.

The singer was also seen campaigning in the state in the days leading to the poll. On August 6, Davido joined Adeleke at a campaign rally in Osun, where they shared a lively moment on stage.

The August 15 election has since been concluded, with the Independent National Electoral Commission declaring Adeleke the winner on August 16. The governor, who contested under the Accord Party, polled 511,067 votes to defeat APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.

Davido celebrated his uncle’s victory on X, writing, “We did it Unc.”

A video now circulating online shows Davido at what appears to be a private jet facility, prompting speculation that he was leaving the state after the conclusion of the election activities.
