Super Eagles goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has completed a transfer to English Championship club Charlton Athletic, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Nigeria goalkeeper’s future has been in the balance all summer. Since the end of last season. It was made clear to him that he would no longer play a key role for Wrexham. Then, they made a statement signing last week, bringing in Nathan Patterson from Sunderland in a deal worth €8 million.

Okonkwo was absent from the Red Dragons’ opening game of the season against Cardiff City. What fueled rumours that he was on his way to Charlton was when the club managing director Jim Rodwell confirmed that they were in talks with Wrexham over the signing of a player.

Now, the speculation has been confirmed, as Okonkwo will be joining the Addicks in a season-long loan.
