Spring skin – What your complexion needs after winter

Spring is the ideal time to introduce lightweight but effective hydration. Look for ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, ceramides and squalane, which can help attract or lock in moisture.

Apply your hydrating products to slightly damp skin and follow with moisturiser to help seal everything in.

Don’t skip your moisturiser

As temperatures rise, it can be tempting to abandon a rich winter moisturiser altogether. Instead, consider switching to a lighter formula if your skin no longer needs something as occlusive.

Gel-creams and lightweight lotions can provide hydration without leaving the skin feeling heavy, particularly if you have combination or oily skin.

If your skin is still dry or sensitive, however, there’s no need to change simply because the season has. Your skin’s needs should determine your routine—not the calendar.

Give your skin barrier some attention
