EKAO Player Management, a rising West African sports-management firm focused on connecting grassroots football talent to global opportunities, has announced a landmark partnership with the Abia State Government and youth leaders from Ikwuano and Umuahia.
The collaboration will sponsor a young footballer from Umuahia for high-performance trials in Spain. Founded in 2025 and active in Nigeria, Spain, and Germany, EKAO specializes in talent scouting, career development, contract negotiation, branding, and post-career planning.
During a strategic meeting in Umuahia, the Managing Director and CEO of EKAO, FIFA-licensed agent Mr. Kenneth Ogbuehi, met with the Secretary to the Abia State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, and Chief Chiedozie Martins Nwosu, National President of the Ibeku Youth Association and Coordinator of the Ikwuano–Umuahia Champions League Tournament. Discussions focused on strengthening sports development across Abia State through improved training facilities, better athlete welfare, long-term development pathways, and broader partnerships aimed at elevating young footballers. The Abia State Government, through the Office of the SSG and the Ministry of Sports, endorsed the initiative as part of its ongoing drive to revitalize sports and create opportunities for local talents.
