VIDEO: Oyo ADC guber candidate distributes corn to supporters

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo State, Taofeek Adegoke, has drawn attention after a video showing him distributing boiled corn to supporters by the roadside circulated widely on social media.

The viral video captured Adegoke standing beside a pot of boiled corn as he personally handed it to supporters who gathered around him.

Supporters jostled to receive the corn directly from the ADC governorship candidate while chanting slogans and repeatedly addressing him as “Mr Governor.”

Several of them stretched out their hands, insisting on collecting the corn from Adegoke personally, saying the gesture was a blessing.

The video has continued to generate reactions online, with many supporters praising the governorship candidate for what they described as his humility and willingness to interact closely with members of the public.

The development comes about a month after Nigerian businessman and philanthropist Tony Elumelu was seen in a viral video buying roasted corn from a roadside vendor.

The clip showed Elumelu stopping to patronise the seller before taking a bite of the roasted corn during the encounter.

The video surfaced about a week after Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, urged struggling Nigerians to explore small businesses such as selling akara, roasted corn and kulikuli as a means of earning a living.
