I love a silly celebrity story. And today being Thanksgiving eve with way too much on your mind to learn about actual hair care, it’s the perfect time for one of these ‘nothing stories’. The person in question this time is none other than Rihanna at the American Music Awards.
‘They’ as in the media as well as concerned naysayers on Twitter are saying that Rihanna’s doobie wrap hair style was not a real hair style? Necole Bitchie posted a twitter caption on Instagram that said:
Rihanna walked out of the Dominican hair salon straight to the AMA’s.
I don’t know about you but I like Rihanna’s diamond bobbie pin doobie wrap, To be honest, at first I was a little disturbed because I couldn’t let go of the fact that you cannot wear that style outside, but then I said to myself, who says you can’t? And where in the world did I get that from?
The Huffington Post began their fun rant by saying:
Welp, leave it to Rihanna to rock the most talked about look at the 2013 American Music Awards last night. And we’re not referring to her barely there Jean Paul Gaultier ensemble — it was her hair that stole the show. The superstar truly, actually and factually wore a doobie wrap! (Insert dropped jaws)
That was hilarious, because the last time I checked Jean Paul Gaultier is an awesome designer and normally the focus at award shows is typically ‘what she wore’ not ‘how she wore her hair’.
This time however, the hair fashion police were out in full force and the doobie wrap was the center of the disturbance. Don’t worry though, this post is really not about tearing down the historical doobie wrap, after all many of us…
