The Nigeria Infrastructure Debt Fund (NIDF) has maintained its unbroken record of quarterly cash distributions, demonstrating the high-yielding resilience of private infrastructure debt even as public equities and sovereign bonds grapple with macroeconomic headwinds and continuous currency adjustments.

For the first six months ending June 30, 2026, the fund’s underlying infrastructure loan portfolio delivered a weighted average annualized yield of 18.23%.

This performance effectively beat both the premium NGX 30 equity index dividend yield and the 10-Year Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) sovereign bond curve, while keeping secondary share-price volatility virtually non-existent on the local exchange floor.

The income stability has turned the asset class into a critical sanctuary for domestic institutional allocators seeking an inflation-beating carry trade.

Reflecting this institutional appetite, the fund has maintained an annualized dividend payout band tracking between 14.0% and 20.0% over the last three years, culminating in a freshly declared Q2 2026 cash distribution of ₦4.40 per unit.

Trading at a Robust NAV Premium

The consistent distribution history has induced a significant valuation markup on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). As of the final trading session of the half-year, NIDF’s net asset value (NAV) per unit stood firmly at ₦109.08, representing the true, audited liquidation value of the underlying infrastructure loans.

However, market demand has pushed secondary market trading prices up to ₦135.00 per unit, indicating that investors are actively willing to pay a notable premium over net asset value to secure access to the fund’s regular cash distributions.
