I am 17 going to be a senior next year. I’ve been natural for 8 months and I am loving it!

Are you relaxed, natural, texturized or texlaxed?    

I am natural

What’s your hair story, how did you get to where you are?    

Well my mom always did my hair up until the fifth grade. That was when I asked her if I could get a relaxer. I loved it so much, but my mom didn’t give me another one after that because I got scabs on my scalp. So after that we turned to the straitening iron* and that’s when the “addiction” began.

I got so many compliments and attention that by the time middle school ended I was straitening every single day.

In the 10th grade I got three sew in’s in a row and did not take care of my real hair AT ALL. So once that last weave came out my hair was do damaged that I decided that I would give my self a trim. I did it so bad that I went to the shop and decided to do the BC and the rest is history I guess.

What is your typical weekly regimen?

Well I will usually wash my hair on Friday nights, because I hate going places with my hair wet. Then I’ll wear a wash and go on Saturday and Sunday.

On Sunday night I’ll either twist my hair up for a mini twist out or leave it so that I can put it in a puff the next morning. Then I’ll just alternate between a twist out and a puff through out the week then start all over again on Friday

For sleeping I’ll either sleep with a scarf or a bonnet. Oh and on Wednesdays I deep condition and leave some of in my hair afterwards.

Are you happy with your progress so far?    

Yes and I have no regrets. I can’t keep my hair straight for more than…
