Lupita Nyong’o Rocks the Hec out of Her TWA

You’re obsessed, I’m surprised! You have to wear something to these events, so I wore things, and people took to them. It was not my agenda at all! But it’s fun, and I’m flattered that everyone is digging my style. It’s great to have something to dress up for. You know, I spent three years in slacks at drama school, so now I like putting a dress on.

That’s what the new break out star Lupita Nyongo had to say when asked about her style by Vulture Magazine. Have you seen that movie 12 Years a Slave yet? If you haven’t it is fantastic and Lupita who plays Patsey is amazing. I must admit I was drawn to her style as well but I couldn’t help but notice that this woman rocked a mean TWA too.

For those that don’t know a TWA means Teeny Weenie Afro and it is often considered the beginning stage of a natural hair journey. This is not set in stone though; it could just be considered a short hair cut. We always say that at least one time in your life you should rock a short hair cut because it can be considered downright sexy and not to mention just plain easy to maintain.

I love Lupita’s TWA because it is just plain and no nonsense, meaning there is no color no special cut, just her hair and she looks amazing. She is an inspiration because sometimes it is difficult to just cut all ones hair off especially when you are used to wearing your hair long. Not to mention it is yet another example of natural hair on the red carpet looking absolutely stunning.

With that said, her pictures are worth sharing because she wears her hair confidently and looks amazing, wait I said that already!
