Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot prices of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gas Oil (Diesel), effective Thursday, August 6. The price cut is part of the refinery’s efforts to provide more affordable petroleum products in Nigeria while maintaining a reliable supply.
Under the new pricing arrangement, the refinery reduced its PMS price to N1,165 per litre from N1,215 per litre, representing a decrease of N50 per litre. The company also lowered its diesel price to N1,570 per litre from N1,650 per litre, a reduction of N80 per litre.
The refinery said the adjustment reflects its commitment to improving access to refined petroleum products and supporting economic activities across the country. It added that operational efficiency has helped the company deliver better value to consumers, businesses and other stakeholders.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery said it would continue working to maintain a stable supply of fuel while using improved processes to strengthen affordability and availability in the Nigerian market.
As Africa’s largest refinery, the facility plays a major role in Nigeria’s energy sector by increasing local refining capacity, reducing dependence on imported fuel and supporting national economic growth through the production of high-quality petroleum products.
The company said it remains focused on contributing to the development of the Nigerian economy and ensuring that consumers benefit from improved operational performance whenever market conditions allow.
The latest reduction in petroleum products in Nigeria comes as businesses and households continue to monitor fuel prices because of their impact on transportation costs, production expenses and the wider economy.
