Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has opened up about a difficult chapter of his life, revealing that his father once sent him away from home after he refused to pursue a career in law.
The veteran actor shared that his father had a different vision for his future and wanted him to further his education with the goal of becoming a lawyer. However, Jim Iyke explained that he had already made up his mind to follow a different path, despite the consequences that came with his decision.
According to the actor, his refusal to abandon his personal aspirations led to a major disagreement with his father, who was disappointed by his choice and asked him to leave the family home.
“My dad kicked me out of the house because I refused to further my education to become a lawyer, but my conviction was firm,” Jim Iyke said.
The actor noted that, although the experience was painful at the time, he remained determined to pursue his own dreams. He explained that standing by his decision required courage, especially when it meant going against his family’s expectations.
