Ex-Super Eagles coach to lead Super Falcons for October Olympic qualifiers – Report

Former Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen will lead the Super Falcons for their upcoming 2028 Olympics double-header against Comoros, Soccernet.ng reports.

Ten-time African champions Nigeria are currently without a coach. After their disappointing outing at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, the former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board told coach Madugu and members of the technical staff to resign from their positions.

However, the Gusau-led NFF failed to name a successor before they themselves resigned, creating an air of uncertainty over the Super Falcons, who will play Comoros in back-to-back games next month on October 7 and 10.

​According to reports from Nigerian journalist Mike The Pundit, the NFF—led by General Secretary Emmanuel Ikpeme—has decided that Eguavoen, who has served as the technical director of the NFF, will lead the Super Falcons into battle against Comoros next month.
