What happens when a fabulous celebrity bride-to-be gets a custom wedding reception gown from one of the country’s talented Black designers? You make the trip to New York for the first fitting—and let the magic begin!
The design team traveled from Dallas to New York with a very special custom creation in hand for Coco Jones, who stopped by for her very first fitting of her wedding reception dress. The gown was created specifically for her after an initial virtual consultation, followed by an in-person appointment where she tried on samples and worked with the designer to bring the vision to life.

And honey, the fitting was giving! From adjusting the bodice and neckline to finding the perfect illusion shade and playing with the proportions, every little detail was carefully considered to make the gown feel like it was made just for her and it was!

There was even a little veil moment, and let’s just say… the drama was DRAMATIC! The wider veil paired with the gown beautifully, creating that dreamy bridal entrance moment before she can switch things up and hit the dance floor.
I also loved hearing Coco talk about discovering the designer while researching Black wedding designers. She wanted to intentionally support Black creatives throughout her wedding journey, and that makes this collaboration even more special.
