Arsenal have made an approach to Real Madrid over a potential move for Brazilian forward Endrick.

The 20-year-old has attracted interest from several clubs following a loan spell at Lyon last season, but newly appointed Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear that the forward is not available for transfer.

Despite Mourinho’s stance, reports that Arsenal have contacted the Spanish giants as they continue their search for an attacking reinforcement before the transfer window closes.

The Gunners had previously targeted Endrick’s Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior but were unable to secure a deal after the Brazilian opted to extend his stay at the Santiago Bernabéu.

Arsenal are also reportedly pursuing Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, with the London club understood to have held talks with representatives of the Spanish side.

Endrick has also been linked with Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Liverpool, as well as Italian side Roma.

Mourinho, however, has expressed his admiration for the young forward and reiterated his desire to keep him at Madrid.

“He’s a player I like a lot and who has had many contacts from clubs that wanted him on loan or transferred,” Mourinho said earlier this week.

“I didn’t want to loan or sell him because I like the player, and I’d like to work with this young player who has important talents.”

Endrick is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury and has missed Real Madrid’s opening two LaLiga matches of the season.
