So, What Exactly Is AI?

AI is a way of teaching computers to do things that normally need a human brain, like recognising your voice, understanding pictures, or suggesting what movie or cartoon you might enjoy next. Think of AI as a very fast learner, although it cannot think or feel like you do, but it can study huge amounts of information and use patterns to make smart guesses. The more information it studies, the better it gets at its job.

Here is a simple way to picture it: imagine you taught your dog to sit by rewarding it with treats every time it got it right. As time goes by, your dog learned the pattern. AI learns in this similar way, except instead of treats, it learns from data, which simply means information like words, numbers, sounds, or pictures.

You might be surprised to know that you probably use AI every single day without even noticing and here are a few highlighted examples below.
