It was revealed in June 2026 that Samsung had started developing its latest custom Android interface, One UI 9.0 (Android 17), for the Galaxy A55. As it stands now, it seems the company is planning to open the software’s beta programme for the device.
A beta firmware for the Galaxy A55, featuring One UI 9.0, has surfaced on Samsung’s server. Also, it brings version A556SKSUAZZH5. This implies the company will open the software’s beta programme for the device.
It’s worthy to note that Samsung unveiled One UI 9.0 by releasing its beta version for the Galaxy S26 series. It also debuted the stable version of the custom Android interface with its latest foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 8. It comes with more UI customisation options and several new features as well.
Nevertheless, there has been no announcement from Samsung yet regarding the One UI 9.0 beta programme for additional devices or the stable rollout. However, it was expected that Samsung would open the new software’s beta programme for more devices soon after launching the foldable phones and then start rolling out its stable version, as it’s been more than one month since it launched those phones.
