Back in May, Google first revealed its plans to launch the new Googlebooks. It was revealed the new Googlebooks would run a new Android-based OS. Now, Google has sent out invitations to media for an official launch event in New York. This event is scheduled to come up on the 15th of September.
According to rumours, Google will announce what is known as Aluminum OS (its official name isn’t revealed yet). It will bring the OS closer to Android, as it will use the Android technology stack. It’s going to be a mixture of Chrome OS and Android OS, with Android OS native codebase.
Google is promising premium hardware and different shapes and sizes. According to visual leaks, all will share a distinctive Glowbar. The first hardware partners are Asus, HP, Lenovo and Dell.
