FG Approves N438bn Road Projects, Trailer Park Concessions Nationwide

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved road construction, rehabilitation and public-private partnership projects worth hundreds of billions of naira across several states, alongside concessions for major highway and trailer park facilities.

The approvals are expected to support road infrastructure development, improve connectivity between communities and economic hubs, and strengthen logistics and transportation infrastructure across the country.

Among the approved projects are major road reconstruction and rehabilitation works in Ekiti, Ogun and Rivers states, as well as highway and trailer park concessions in Niger, Lagos and Abia states.

Major Road Construction and Rehabilitation Projects

One of the largest approvals is the N159.83 billion reconstruction of the Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure–Osun border road in Ekiti State. The project has been awarded to CBC Global Civil and Building Construction Nigeria Ltd.

The Federal Government also approved a N54.12 billion variation order for the rehabilitation of the Abeokuta–Iboro–Ilaro Road in Ogun State.

In Rivers State, the 15-kilometre Port Harcourt–Eleme Junction–Onne Port Junction section of the East-West Road is set for reconstruction at a cost of N74.51 billion. RCC Nigeria Ltd. will undertake the project, which has a nine-month completion timeline.

Also in Ekiti State, the government approved N54.52 billion for Phase II of the rehabilitation of the Ado-Ekiti–Afe Babalola University Road, which forms part of the Ado–Ijan–Iluomobi–Imesi–Ondo border route.

Meanwhile, the Ilara–Iselu Road, Phases II–V, in Ogun State will receive N94.24 billion for construction. The project was awarded to JRB Construction Company Ltd. and is expected to be completed within 24 months.
