FMDQ Exchange secondary market turnover rises by 41.23% to N63.64trn

The secondary market turnover on FMDQ Exchange in July 2026 was N63.64trillion. This amount represents a month-on-month (MoM) increase of 41.23 percent (N18.58trillion) from June 2026 figures and a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 36.40 percent (N16.98trillion) from the turnover recorded in July 2025.

Total turnover for the Spot and Derivatives Market was N60.30trillion and N3.34trillion, respectively, in July 2026.

Spot FX Market Turnover was $18.23billion (N25.04trillion) in July 2026, representing a MoM increase of 41.64 percent ($5.36billion) from the turnover recorded in June 2026 ($12.87billion).

Further, the Naira depreciated against the US Dollar in the FX market, with the spot exchange rate ($/N) increasing by 0.39 percent ($/N5.28) to close at an average of $/N1373.43 in July 2026 from $/N1,368.14 recorded in June 2026, trading within a range of $/N1,361 – $/N1,383.50

Meanwhile, in the Derivatives Market, total turnover in the FX Market segment was $2.43billion (N3.34trillion), representing a MoM increase of 58.01 percent ($0.89billion) from June 2026 figures.
