Spanish LaLiga side Sevilla have intensified efforts to sign George Ilenikhena from Saudi Arabia side Al-ittihad, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Following the departure of Nigeria international striker Akor Adams to Italian Serie A side Venezia, the club is keen on adding more numbers in attack and Ilenikhena is their top target.
They believe he will add quality to their attack as a better alternative to the duo of Isaac Romero and Robbie Ure. Hence a proposal to the Saudi Arabia side who signed the 19 year old in January from Monaco.
A loan deal with an option of making it permanent is currently what they are proposing due to the financial constraints on the club, which means a permanent deal will be difficult.
Although Al Ittihad are open to his exit, they are however demanding a high amount for his permanent signing which has caused the deal to slow down in recent days, opening the door for Real Betis to enter the race.
But the forward who recently agreed to play for the senior national team of Nigeria is adamant and prefers a move to Sevilla, and he is currently pushing for a swift conclusion of the deal to enable him team up with Sevilla. He hasn’t featured in pre season games lately.
