Nigeria’s digital connectivity landscape has reached a significant turning point, According to a newly published market analysis by Ookla , the global leader in network intelligence and connectivity insights, Nigeria’s median fixed broadband download speed jumped 155 percent (2.55x), rising from 13.50 Mbps in 2023 to 34.47 Mbps in the first half of 2026.

This rapid acceleration in network performance coincides with a dramatic expansion of physical infrastructure across the country, highlighted by a threefold increase in Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) subscriptions between late 2024 and June 2026.
