Quick Share on Samsung Galaxy devices will feature Tap to Share

Before long, Galaxy users will be able to share photos, contacts, and more through Quick Share. You can do this just by tapping one Galaxy device with another.

By tapping one Galaxy device against another one via Quick Share, Galaxy users can comfortably share photos, videos, contacts, website links, et cetera. Google shares that very soon, this Tap to Share feature will be coming to the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8. Then later this year, it will come to other Galaxy devices running Android 17 (One UI 9).

Tapping two devices together when on the home screen will transfer contact information. Users are required to open the content to be able to send photos, videos, or other content, tap the Share button, and then tap the two devices together to start the transfer.

The Pixel 11 series is the first to receive this feature. It’s also expected to work on Galaxy devices. However, Tap to Share will first require the Android 17/One UI 9 update for devices that are older than the Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8, and Flip 8.

One UI 9 is currently in beta for the Galaxy S26 series. Before long, the beta programme is expected to expand to more devices. As for the stable update, there’s a chance it might begin rolling out next month.
