The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has set up a fact-finding committee to investigate the country’s poor run in international competitions, with particular focus on the Super Falcons’ failure to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The Super Falcons, 10-time Women’s AFCON champions and holders, were eliminated in the quarter-finals of the ongoing tournament in Morocco before losing 1-2 to South Africa in the playoff for a place in the Inter-Confederations Playoffs.

The failure means Nigeria will miss the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil, ending the Super Falcons’ ever-present record at the tournament since its inaugural edition in 1991.
