Former Nigeria international striker Osaze Odemwingie says Victor Osimhen’s poor behaviour is becoming a case of one too many after an incident in a recent pre season game against Villareal, OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
During Galatasaray’s pre-season friendly against Villarreal at RAMS Park, Victor Osimhen was involved in a heated on-field altercation with Villarreal defender Santiago Mouriño.
Around the 37th minute of the first half, Santiago Mouriño used his body to physically block and shield Osimhen from getting onto the end of a cross and advancing into a dangerous position inside the penalty box.
Frustrated by the heavy physical marking and feeling he was illegally held, a furious Osimhen took off his protective face mask, marched up to the Uruguayan defender, and shoved him forcefully to the ground.
Teammates quickly rushed in to separate the two players and defuse the situation. The referee, Kadir Sağlam, ultimately booked both Osimhen and Mouriño with yellow cards.
Odemwingie said it’s becoming too often and he doesn’t back such acts. “I don’t back this behaviour because my first feeling was, ‘Not again.’ I’ve seen it quite a bit. It’s happening a bit more often than it should.”
