Trabzonspor interim head coach Huseyin Cimsir has provided an update on the injury situation of Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, giving a positive indication over when the Nigerian could return to action, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian striker suffered an injury during the Black Sea Storm’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Genclerbirligi on Sunday, as they returned to winning ways following a run of two games without a victory.
Onuachu was involved in a physical challenge in the 44th minute and reportedly suffered a broken chin, forcing him to leave the pitch immediately. New signing Franculino Dju came on as his replacement.
The 32-year-old had already scored twice before his substitution, ending his goal drought after going five matches across all competitions without scoring for the club this season.
The former Genk striker opened the scoring inside the first five minutes to put Trabzonspor ahead before Mohamed Salah converted a penalty to double their advantage.
Onuachu then scored his second goal of the match in the 22nd minute, while further goals from Ernest Muci and Franculino completed the 5-0 rout.
