It’s midnight, and you can’t sleep. You have shut your eyes and attempted to summon the sandman to no avail. It’s a few hours before daybreak, and you’re still tossing around the bed, unable to get a lick of sleep, not because you don’t want to but because your head is full and your mind is racing. It’s almost that time of the year again when you have to renew your rent.
The weeks are fast approaching, and it’s almost as if the walls are closing in on you. You’ve spent the last couple of months saving, but you’re still short, and you don’t know if you can make up the difference in the time left. You can’t sleep, and so do thousands of people around the country battling the same thought and asking themselves the same question: “What will I do?”

This option of paying monthly rent has been serially canvassed as one of the ways to ease the rent burdens on Nigerians. Yet, actualising this is still largely far from the reality in most cities. However, Abuja residents are about to get a positive on this with the launch of the monthly rent payment option by FourStrides.
