Nigeria’s GDP Grows 4.43% in Q2 2026, Driven by Services, Agriculture — NBS
Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 4.43 per cent year-on-year in real terms in the second quarter of 2026, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has said.
The Q2 2026 figure is 0.20 percentage points higher than the 4.23 per cent recorded in the same quarter of 2025, indicating a modest strengthening in economic activity.
According to the NBS, growth was driven by the services and agriculture sectors, while industrial growth slowed sharply.
The services sector recorded the strongest growth, expanding by 4.60 per cent in Q2 2026 compared to 3.94 per cent in Q2 2025.
Agriculture also improved, growing by 4.39 per cent from 2.82 per cent in the corresponding quarter of 2025.
However, the industry sector slowed to 3.96 per cent from 7.46 per cent in Q2 2025.
“The growth of the industry sector stood at 3.96 per cent from 7.46 per cent recorded in the second quarter of 2025,” the NBS stated.
The Q2 result comes as the government continues to push reforms aimed at boosting non-oil growth and stabilising the macroeconomy.
