Nigeria international goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has left Omonia Nicosia after five years at the club , OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.
Uzoho who has been playing the role of back up goalkeeper to first choice Fabiano was told he can leave this club before the close of the summer transfer window, shortly after they progressed to the group stages of the Europa League.
The 27 year old was courted by three teams in Cyprus, but he decided to join early season table toppers Omonia 29is Maiou, bringing an end to his association with their rivals.
He is expected to be the first choice of the team with his wealth of experience in the league handing him an advantage over others. The deal has been announced by both clubs.
Although the duration of the deal wasn’t stated, sources say it will be a three year contract with the option of another based on the success of his first years with the club.
