The National Sports Commission (NSC) has appointed new interim leadership to oversee the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Secretariat following the resignation of NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Dr Mohammed Sanusi and members of the federation’s Executive Committee.
Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme has been appointed acting general secretary of the NFF, while Dr Ademola Olajire, the federation’s former director of media and communications, will serve as acting deputy general secretary.

The appointments are part of interim measures announced by the NSC to ensure continuity in the administration of Nigerian football following the mass resignation of the NFF leadership.
The Commission has also suspended all processes relating to the NFF Elective Congress scheduled for September 27.
A fresh electoral process will be initiated upon completion of a comprehensive reform programme, to be undertaken in consultation with FIFA, CAF and other relevant stakeholders.

League leadership changes
The NSC has also directed the chairmen, appointed directors and chief executive officers of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Nigeria National League (NNL), Nigeria Women’s Football League and Nationwide League One to hand over the administration of their respective competitions to their chief operating officers (COOs).
Where a league’s COO is not a member of the NFF staff, the acting general secretary has been directed to deploy a new COO from within the federation.
