Forgotten Super Eagles Striker Hit Brace For Greek Side In Conference League Win

Cyriel Dessers was the hero for Greek side Panathinaikos in their Europa Conference League playoff 2-1 win over Croatian side Hradec Kralove , OwnGoalNigeria.com reports.

Dessers who was a part of the Super Eagles squad to the last AFCON but has to leave the camp after suffering an injury that kept him out of the tournament, showed his predatory instincts after coming on as a substitute.

He put his side ahead in the 72 minutes to hand them the advantage in the tie but Hradec Kralove level to force the tie into extra time , and the Nigerian decided the game from the spot.

In the fifth minute of time added on in the second half of extra time with the game heading into spot kicks, Dessers ensured that his side sealed their passage into the group stage of the tournament with a well taken spot kick.

He showed no nerves from the spot with virtually the last kick of the game as his team ran out 4-3 aggregate winners, breaking the heart of the home fans.
