Global startup accelerator Techstars has opened applications for its Spring 2027 accelerator programmes, offering accepted startups $220,000 in funding, alongside mentorship, investor access and support from its global network.
Applications opened on August 24, 2026, and will close on November 18, 2026. The programmes are targeted at early-stage startups looking to develop their businesses, strengthen their products and prepare for further growth and fundraising.
The Spring 2027 programmes will run for three months, beginning on March 8, 2027, with Demo Day scheduled for June 3.
For founders, the programme combines direct capital with access to Techstars’ network of founders, investors, corporate partners and other resources.
How Techstars’ $220,000 investment works
Techstars’ current investment package provides accepted companies with $220,000 through two separate agreements.
The first is a $200,000 uncapped Most Favoured Nation (MFN) SAFE, which can convert into additional equity depending on the terms of the startup’s subsequent financing.
The remaining $20,000 comes through a Post-Money Convertible Equity Agreement. Techstars takes at least 5% common equity through this portion of the investment.
The structure gives startups a significant amount of upfront capital while allowing Techstars to participate in the companies’ future financing.
For early-stage founders, the funding can provide additional runway to develop products, hire talent, acquire customers and prepare for larger fundraising rounds.
However, the financial package is only one part of the accelerator’s proposition. Techstars also positions its global network and mentorship as important components of the programme.
