The latest feat was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs Isah Sulaiman. Notably, the record-breaking day comes just weeks after the Command posted an unprecedented โฆ323 billion in monthly revenue for July 2026; itself the highest monthly collection in the Command’s history. Taken together, the two milestones point to a sustained upward trend in revenue performance at one of Nigeria’s busiest ports. Oshoba attributed the surge to a combination of factors: improved compliance among trade stakeholders, enhanced trade facilitation measures, intelligence-driven enforcement operations, and greater efficiency from the Customs Service’s expanding digital processes. He noted that the achievement extends beyond the numbers themselves, describing it as a direct contribution to national development. According to Oshoba, revenue generated by Customs forms part of the resources government relies on to fund infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, and other public services.
