Hello, I’m Tiffany and I’m a stylist in the UK. I’m currently in the military and do hair from my home after work and weekends.
How long have you worked as a licensed cosmetologist (or equivalent in your country) and where did you get your license?
I’m not a licensed cosmetologist. I would like to take classes and get licensed once I return to the states. I have been doing hair for over 12 years.
What is your specialty, relaxed, natural hair, locs or anything special?
I don’t have a specialty. I practice everything and on any hair type.
What in your opinion is the most rewarding thing about working as a hair stylist?
I love make others feel pretty. I love encouraging them and teaching them how to grow healthy hair. I love being around to watch their hair grow as it should and know that I was able to help accomplish great lengths.
When you meet that customer that has not had a great experience with a previous stylist, how do you make them feel comfortable?
I talk to them. I ask them what they are looking for and how they plan on wearing and maintaining their hair after they leave my chair. I ask their home routine to see how capable they are at maintaining their hair. Then I give them suggestions from our conversation.
If you could change one thing about the cosmetology industry what would that be?
Nothing at the moment.
Where do you see yourself a few years from now, what are your goals as a stylist?
I would love to become a celebrity hairstylist. I want to become licensed and work full time as a stylist.
