The Nigeria Premier Football League has unveiled a YouTube live-streaming partnership with Murphy Ben International to expand access to domestic football and improve the league’s digital presence.
NPFL Chairman, Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye, announced the partnership at a signing ceremony, saying it would enable fans to watch selected league matches on internet-enabled devices. He said the partnership followed discussions between the NPFL and Murphy Ben International, including meetings in Abuja and a visit by league officials to the company’s headquarters in Lagos.
According to Elegbeleye, the initiative goes beyond broadcasting matches and is expected to create new opportunities for revenue generation, commercial partnerships, player exposure and fan engagement.
He said the digital platform would give NPFL clubs greater visibility and provide players with an opportunity to showcase their talent to a wider audience.
The NPFL chairman said Murphy Ben International was selected because of its digital and technical capacity and its shared ambition to improve the visibility of Nigerian domestic football.
Director of Corporate Affairs at Murphy Ben International, Chioma Obioke, said the partnership would focus on broadcasting, storytelling, promotion, fan engagement and commercial development.
