Standard Chartered is bringing a new gold-focused investment strategy to Nigeria’s wealth market, giving accredited and professional investors access to a fund designed to combine exposure to gold with regular income.
The bank said the Signature Select Enhanced Gold Income Fund, launched in partnership with Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), will be available this month to eligible clients in Nigeria through its Priority, Priority Private and Private Banking segments.

The fund is Standard Chartered’s ninth sub-fund under its Variable Capital Company (VCC) platform and its fourth fund launch of 2026, highlighting the bank’s expanding push to offer alternative investment products to wealthy clients.
The strategy combines investments in gold exchange-traded funds with a covered call options strategy. The structure is intended to provide regular income while allowing investors to retain exposure to the potential long-term appreciation of gold.
For Nigerian investors, the product adds another route into gold beyond direct ownership of the metal, while placing the investment within a professionally managed portfolio structure.
Standard Chartered said gold’s relatively low correlation with traditional asset classes can help investors diversify portfolios and improve resilience during periods of geopolitical, monetary and market uncertainty.
